Abstract

The title of this study is “Analysis of Setting on Book Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln By Doris Kearns Goodwin”. The problem that the author takes is related to the background in this book. This study aims to understand and describe the setting in the book Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin. This research is a research with the qualitative descriptive method and data collection techniques based on content analysis. The description method will describe and analyze literary works with an emphasis on content analysis. Content analysis is done by interpreting and making conclusions through the identification of certain themes in the text objectively and systematically. This research uses the object of the book Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin which was written in 2005. The data in this study are in the form of data contained in the book and the researcher has understood to determine the setting. Data obtained by reading carefully & taking notes. The approach used to perform the analysis is to use an expressive approach. The expressive approach is an approach that studies the self-actualization of the writer's feelings or temperament.
