Policy of Screening for Plagiarism
THE GIST: Jurnal Sastra dan Bahasa is committed to publishing only original and authentic research. All manuscripts submitted to this journal are screened for plagiarism prior to peer review.
Plagiarism Detection
All submissions are checked using Turnitin software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references and properly cited quotations) will be returned to the authors for revision or may be rejected without review.
What Constitutes Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying text from other works without proper citation
- Paraphrasing without acknowledgment of the original source
- Reusing one's own previously published work without disclosure (self-plagiarism)
- Presenting others' data, figures, or tables without permission or attribution
Consequences
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the editorial board reserves the right to retract the article. Authors found guilty of plagiarism may be banned from submitting future work to this journal.
