Author Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to THE GIST: Jurnal Sastra dan Bahasa must follow the guidelines below to ensure their work is considered for publication.

General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original and not previously published or under review elsewhere.
  • Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English. A bilingual abstract (Indonesian and English) is required.
  • The manuscript should be typed on A4 paper with 2.5 cm margins on all sides, using Times New Roman font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Word count: 4,000–8,000 words (excluding references).
  • All references must follow the APA (American Psychological Association) citation style.
  • Use Mendeley or Zotero for reference management.
  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system at journal2.unfari.ac.id.

Manuscript Structure

  1. Title – Concise and informative, maximum 15 words.
  2. Author(s) and Affiliation – Full name(s), institutional affiliation, and corresponding author email.
  3. Abstract – Maximum 250 words in both Indonesian and English; includes background, objective, method, results, and conclusion.
  4. Keywords – 3 to 6 keywords.
  5. Introduction – Background, problem statement, and research objective.
  6. Methods – Research approach, data collection, and analytical framework.
  7. Results and Discussion – Linguistic or literary analysis presented clearly.
  8. Conclusion – Summary of findings and their contribution to the field.
  9. Acknowledgement – (if applicable).
  10. References – Minimum 15 references; at least 80% from primary sources (journals) published within the last 10 years.
