RETRACTION AND/OR CORRECTIONS

Authors are strongly discouraged from withdrawing submitted manuscripts once they have entered the publication process (review, copyediting, layout, etc.), as Jurnal Sabdariffarma invests considerable time and resources in processing manuscripts. If, under exceptional circumstances, authors still wish to withdraw their manuscripts, they are required to reimburse all costs incurred during the editorial process. The withdrawal request must be officially submitted via email from the same address used during correspondence with the editor.

Grounds for Retraction

The Editorial Board may consider retracting a publication if:

  • There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of research misconduct (e.g., data fabrication, falsification) or honest error (e.g., miscalculation, experimental mistake).
  • The findings have been previously published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing, permission, or justification (i.e., redundant publication).
  • The publication constitutes plagiarism.
  • The research reported involves unethical practices or violates accepted ethical standards.

Retraction Policy and Procedure

The retraction process follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Retraction Guidelines, which provide a standardized approach to ensuring transparency and academic integrity. Full details can be accessed at:

Editors and publishers will issue a formal retraction notice, linked to the original article, explaining the reasons for the retraction. Retracted articles will remain accessible online but will be clearly marked as “Retracted” to maintain the scholarly record and ensure accountability.
