Abstrak

Diuretik adalah salah satu zat yang dapat meningkatkan laju pengeluaran volume urine. Tanaman Daun Gedi (Abelmoschus manihot L.) dapat memiliki efek diuretik karena pada tanaman daun gedi memiliki senyawa flavonoid. Pada penelitian kali ini menggunakan 25 ekor mencit jantan putih galur Swiss Webster yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok uji. Kelompok kontrol normal diberi aquadest 0,5 ml, kelompok pembanding diberi furosemid 0,104 mg/20g BB, kelompok uji dosis I diberi ekstrak etanol daun gedi 3 mg/20g BB, dosis II diberi ekstrak etanol daun gedi 6 mg/20g BB, dan dosis III diberi ekstrak etanol daun gedi 12 mg/20g BB. Penelitian Menggunakan metode Lipschitz. Pengujian dilakukan dengan mengukur volume urin yang keluar selama 6 jam dan pengukuran kadar Na+ dan K+ dalam urin . Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan one way ANOVA . Hasil penelitian menunjukan ekstrak etanol daun gedi memiliki efek diuretik terhadap mencit putih jantan galur Swiss Webster dengan volume urin terbanyak ditunjukan pada dosis III (12 mg/20g BB) yang mendekati efek diuretik pembanding furosemid. Dari hasil data grafik dan statistik, pemberian ekstrak etanol daun gedi memberikan efek diuretik berbeda bermakna dengan taraf α=0,05.
