Abstrak

Daun alpukat (Persea Americana Mill.) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat yang bermanfaat sebagai antidiabetes. Daun alpukat mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin dan tanin yang dapat menghambat transport glukosa dari usus sehingga dapat menurunkan absorbsi (kadar) glukosa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan aktivitas ekstrak etanol 70% daun alpukat dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pretestpostest With Control Group design dengan 20 ekor mencit jantan DDY. Mencit dibuat hiperglikemi dengan pemberian beban sukrosa. Mencit dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol positif (K+), kelompok kontrol negatif (K-), dan kelompok perlakuan ekstrak daun alpukat dosis 125, 150 dan 175 mg/kg BB mencit “(P1), (P2), (P3)”. Pengecekan kadar glukosa darah dilakukan pada hari ke 8, 15 dan 22 melalui vena ekor. Data yang diperoleh diuji secara statistik menggunakan ANOVA. Pada ekstrak etanol 70% daun alpukat dosis 125 mg/kg BB mencit, 150 mg/kg BB mencit dan 175 mg/kg BB mencit dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada mencit yang diberikan beban sukrosa. Rata-rata penurunan kadar glukosa darah setelah perlakuan pada kelompok K+, K-, P1, P2 dan P3 secara berurutan 29,5 mg/dL, -3 mg/dL, 41,5 mg/dL, 43,5 mg/dL dan 45 mg/dL.
